Meet Malana!
Malana LaCombe is a dedicated and passionate full-time Certified Financial Counselor at Southwest Louisiana Credit Union. With a career that began in 2008, Malana has always had a love for math, money, and helping others, which naturally led her to the financial industry. She spent her first four years as a Member Service Representative before expanding her expertise in various areas, including solutions, back-office administration, accounting, and lending. Having worked with the Lafayette chapter of credit unions for 13 years, Malana has been an integral part of the Lake Charles chapter and SWLACU for the past three years. Her commitment to making a difference is evident in the award-winning financial counseling programs she developed for both adults and children.
Malana’s educational and professional accomplishments further highlight her dedication to her field. She is a graduate of the Credit Union Development Educator program (2023), the Credit Union Financial Counselor program (2015), and the Hero Community Development Counselor program (2024). Additionally, she is a nationally certified Mental Health First Aider for both youth and adults (2024) and holds an industry-based certification in all Microsoft products (2017). Whether she’s guiding a first-time homebuyer or offering friendly advice, Malana believes in going the extra mile to make a difference in the lives of those she serves.
